This year FODfest will extend from an 8 day tour to upwards of three weeks and hopes to include west and east coasts. FODfest is an annual concert tour that honors the late Wall St. Journal reporter Daniel Pearl and celebrates music as a universal language and community building tool. In addition to being a journalist, Danny was a talented musician who was classically trained and played fiddle & mandolin. FOD is an acronym for Friends of Danny and the tour features several musicians who knew him and played music with him while he was alive and many who never knew him but connect with this story. FODfest ‘07 featured more than 100 musicians from across the country and made stops in Atlanta, Memphis, Asheville, Washington, DC, Boston, the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, and the Catskills of upstate NY. The tour is organized by Todd Mack who was a former band mate and close friend of Pearl’s. http://fodfest.org
